Poodles Looking For Their New Forever Home
NB. Please see our LOOKING FOR A POODLE? page before you decide on a dog. Regardless how experienced you feel you are as a poodle owner, we must follow certain protocols and this page will explain what we go through before rehoming a dog as NO EXCEPTIONS will be made
PLEASE, PLEASE...if you find a dog before we can offer you one, DO LET US KNOW. It saves us time, effort and cost in trying to contact you. Many thanks!
Here are some of the poodles (and occasionally other dogs) we have ready for re-homing.
This may not always be an up-to-date reflection of all of the dogs we have in our care. If you are serious about adopting a dog, please call Hanna as she knows of all the dogs we have and those due in soon.
Some dogs are only with us for a week, sadly some seem to stay with us for a few months. Therefore please scroll down to through the list for newcomers.
NOT ALL RESCUE DOGS HAVE ISSUES The lad in the photo came in when he was 4 months old and the person who bought him had several young children and just could not cope with a young dog as well. Many of the dogs we have are here due to marriage breakdowns, owners ill health or death. These dogs have been loved and are well adjusted and socialised.
We will never turn a dog away. All the poodles (and sometimes other dogs we take in for re-homing) cannot help what colour they are, what sex they were born, what age they are nor the state of their health. They all need to be looked after and deserve a loving, forever home for the rest of their days.
PLEASE NOTE: We are not affiliated with any other rescue service, kennel, breeder(s) or internet site in any way and all communication related to any of the dogs on this site or in our care must be addressed to Hanna CONTACT US

Please remember: from your initial enquiry to Hanna to you recieving our enquiry form, having a homecheck and that being reported back to us, it can take a few weeks before you can go visit a dog in its foster home. There are NO EXCEPTIONS to having this process completed.

26/8/14: This young Standard lad is in his foster home and being assessed. This is our findings at present.
A loving, caring home is needed for this stunning lad that needs care, attention and understanding. Jet has a lot to give but still requires med and strangers to earn his trust so care will be needed initially when he finds his forever home. He longs to be loved and will mke an affectionate and loyal companion. Behavioural support will be available for this lad. He has all the usual Standard traits...bouncy, playful, loving and most of all, he will be lotal to his new owner. He just needs a little time to adjust. He is good in the car and can be left alone for a few hours.

This lad has recently arrived and here is a summary from
15/7/14: This cream Miniature is due to be neutered this week.. So far he seems a nice boy who has settled in well with my other dogs. He is sleeping and eating well.
He had had no lead training and he has not mastered recall but I am working on that. He does bark at the ducks but he probably hasn't seen any up close before.
He is very affectionate and friendly with everyone and other dogs.
19/8/2014: We are sad to say that this lad is still looking for his forever home after the prospective adoptive family decided not to proceed with a rescue dog. This lad is only with us as his previous owner has had to move in to a nursing home which does not allow dogs. He is a little darling.
22/8/14: Having given this much consideration, we feel he would be better homed as an only dog which is what he has been used to. He is absolutely fine with other dogs in the park and whilst playing but can be food possessive when other dogs are around.
AGE: 5 yrs
This lad has come to us due to the ill health of his owner. He has been prescribed antibiotics due to a mouth abscess and once that is uner control, we will have a dental done.
22/8/14: Having had a dental where 4 teeth were removed and he has had a final vet check after completing a course of antibiotics, this lad is ready for his new forever home. He is a lovely dog who is great with other dogs.
AGE: 8 yrs
FOSTER LOCATION: Gloucs.
This lad came wo us in a terrible state. He has had his last vet check after he had 13 teeth out ! He was also: neutered (one retained testicle)/ had infected anal glands & an eye infection /ears cleaned / nails clipped / his coat had to be cut off as he was so matted.
Evne after all of this, he is a sweet little dog, good with other dogs and my children. He would need an understanding owner as he has had such a bad start and he did not trust any one but now he is playing and likes cuddles and likes to for walkes. He likes to be with you but can be left for short periods of time and is good in the car
15/7/14: He has had his last vet check after he had 13 teeth removed, was neutered, had his ears cleaned and nails clipped. We had to have his coat clipped completely as he was so matted. He certainly feels so much better now.
He is a sweet little dog who is good with other dogs and my children. He would need an understanding owner as he has had such a bad start. When he first came in, he did not trust anyone but now he is playing, likes cuddles and likes to go for walks. He likes to be with you but can be left for short periods and is good in the car.
16 yrs old
13/5/14: We are soon to be taking in this 16 year old. We are told she is a lively girl, good with other dogs etc.and would make a lovely lap dog. More details will follow once she is in her foster home but if you think you could give her a loving home for the rest of her life, please call Hanna
AGE: 11 yrs

This neutered Silver girl will be with us shortly.

22/8/14: This lady is proving to be very nervous and unsure of newcomers. She is living with the fosterer and their dogs absolutely fine but when visitors call she is very anxious and her tail drops between her legs and she runs off grumbling. She will need a very understanding owner.
AGE: 12 yrs
26/3/14: This spayed bitch has just arrived in her foster home. More details and photo to follow
27/3/14: Update received this morning from her fosterer: She is good with people, children, cats, ducks, chickens,
nothing seems to worry her, fitted in with my pack, very affectionate, easy to handle. She has not had a health check yet, but walks well, active etc.
AGE: 2.5 yrs
11/3/14: This neutered cream lad has recently arrived in his foster home and being assessed. Call Hanna if you think you may be interested in him.
AGE: 4 yrs
This poor lass is too stressed at the moment to be neutered as she has Addisons disease. She has been in her foster home for one week now and we have also discovered she has 'dry eye'. She is OK with wither Poodles but on a walk can take a dislike to unknown dogs. We feel this could be down to her condition and medication.
If you think you could give a loving home to the poor, poor young girl, please call Hanna as Addisons is a controllable disease with the help of medication and Hanna can offer guidance as to the long term implications
7/2/14: We are now desperately looking for life-long home for this girl with someone who either has knowledge of Addisons or who is willing to work through the illness with her. As mentioned above, we will provide as much help and assistance we can in this respect. PLEASE, PLEASE call Hanna if you think you could offer this girl a stable, quiet, loving home.
24/4/14: Not much more to say about this lovely dog. She is well balanced, not stressed as her medication is at the correct level . She is nothing more than a normal standard with one little issue, she does bark at other dogs when we are out - noise nothing else. No aggression as she has a nice friendly nature, loving to people kids etc, obedient. Loves running & chasing a ball fetches it back for you to throw again lets the other dogs have it if they get there first. We have never know her to growl, not even once .
AGE: 5.5 yrs
FOSTER LOCATION: Notts
3/2/14: This pair of litter sisters have come in to rescue due to the death of their owner. They are settling in well in their foster home. They have been vet checked and all is ok with them. They are fully house trained, vaccinated and microchipped.
They will need an experienced dog owner as they are lacking some basic social skills but have great personalities.
24/5/14: These girls will be better homed separately.
AGE: 3.5 yrs

FULY SECURE 5-6' FENCING REQUIRED FOR THIS DOG
This spayed black girl has just arrived in her foster home and is being assessed. If you think you may be interested, please call Hanna (3/12/13)
11/3/2014: This girl needs to be rehomed with another Standard male. She is not good with cats and an owner who will carry on her training. She is not good with small dogs at the moment but is getting much better
AGE: 9.5 yrs
FOSTER LOCATION: Kent
This brown spayed girl has just come in and has been placed with a foster family.
More details to follow but if you may be interested, please call Hanna
24/9/13: This absolutely adorable, loving elderly lady has been vet checked and some helth issues have been identified and are currently being addressed. More details will follow.
22/11/13: This 'lady' has been on insulin for just over a month now and had a glucose curve this week and a blood test. Apart from having her insulin adjusted, her blood test has shown a vast improvement in her health. She will continue to be monitored.
14/12/13: At last this girl is putting on weight - fingers crossed it continues. She takes her injections really well, especially when there is ham at the end of it. She is INCREDIBLY loving and cuddly, even before her eyes started to fail her (cataracts) she was our shadow. She is a smart cookie and quickly works out her surroundings. She was obviously an early riser, as although she sleeps soundly throughout the night, she still has her early morning rise. She is house trained, you just need to bare in mind that she needs reminding sometimes. She happily shares her house and her bed but in truth, if she's got the undividied attention of her human then she is the happiest girl in the world. I joke and say, she'd love a papoose - she really would, she loves the closeness.
AGE: 4 yrs

This neutered Apricot lad has just arrived. More details to follow .
11/3/2014: This lad could be wonderful with a firm and fair owner who will make him understand what is acceptable. He dislikes the car and can be difficult on the lead. This lad really needs a patient and understanding owner who has dealt with obedience issues in the past.
Apricot Miniature Poodle
3 yrs old Dog
This lad has been assessed and heakthchecked and ready to be re-homed.
He loves playing with other dogs and likes men but can be unpredictable with women!! Therefore he should ideally be suited to a male household with another dog. Where women are in the household, they would need to be willing to work toward gaining his confidence and be firm with him. Please call Hanna for more information
3/2/14: We are astonished that this dog has not found his loving home yet. All he needs is a male only or a mixed sex household where the woman needs to be strong with their dog. He is good with the foster family as they will not stand for his tantrums!
Due to his ongoing temperament issues, this lad is now being kept by us on permanent foster so we are putting him on the sponsorship page.
This silver miniature neutered male has just arrived. He is 3 1/2 years old. More details to follow.
11/3/2014: This lad has a temperament issue. Unless he knows you he shows fearful aggression. He is learning to walk outside now but can still be terrified of vehicles, unknown noises etc.. He is now just over 5 years old but due to not being socialised in his former life, we know he is going to be difficult to be rehomed but we would love to find someone who would be willing to take him on and give him a loving home .
6 yrs old
Due to his Canine Autism Spectrum Disorder, this lad is now being kept by us on permanent foster so we are putting him on the sponsorship page.
BLACK / BLUE STANDARD POODLE DOG
9+ yrs old

(23/03/14) I just cannot believe it has been almost two years since we have given an update on Finnie. He has been keeping well and his mobility is about the same but is kept under control with a daily Previcox tablet. We had to take him off of Metacam as it started to upset his tummy.
Last Wednesday however, he had to have a Total Ear Canal Ablation (removal) as for a few months he had a severe infection in his left ear. He went through ear flushes, antibiotics etc but in the end even given he is 11.5 years old now, after discussions with the vet it was decided this was the best course of treatment. The operation was long (over three hours) and very costly (£1,600.00) He is recovering well albeit with a small amount of fluid build-up but it is self draining. Through all this he is a very good boy. I will add a photo when I can take a decent one as he is very camera shy!
Due to this lad having continued mobility issues, we have decided to keep him on permanent foster and create a page entirely to him and his progress. If you would like to follow his story, please see Finnie's Page
If you would like to see just some of the other dogs we have on permanent foster, please see our SPONSORSHIP page. Thank-you
