Poodles Looking For Their New Forever Home
NB. Please see our LOOKING FOR A POODLE? page before you decide on a dog. Regardless how experienced you feel you are as a poodle owner, we must follow certain protocols and this page will explain what we go through before rehoming a dog as NO EXCEPTIONS will be made
PLEASE, PLEASE...if you find a dog before we can offer you one, DO LET US KNOW. It saves us time, effort and cost in trying to contact you. Many thanks!
Here are some of the poodles (and occasionally other dogs) we have ready for re-homing.
This may not always be an up-to-date reflection of all of the dogs we have in our care. If you are serious about adopting a dog, please call Hanna as she knows of all the dogs we have and those due in soon.
Some dogs are only with us for a week, sadly some seem to stay with us for a few months. Therefore please scroll down to through the list for newcomers.
NOT ALL RESCUE DOGS HAVE ISSUES The lad in the photo came in when he was 4 months old and the person who bought him had several young children and just could not cope with a young dog as well. Many of the dogs we have are here due to marriage breakdowns, owners ill health or death. These dogs have been loved and are well adjusted and socialised.
We will never turn a dog away. All the poodles (and sometimes other dogs we take in for re-homing) cannot help what colour they are, what sex they were born, what age they are nor the state of their health. They all need to be looked after and deserve a loving, forever home for the rest of their days.
PLEASE NOTE: We are not affiliated with any other rescue service, kennel, breeder(s) or internet site in any way and all communication related to any of the dogs on this site or in our care must be addressed to Hanna CONTACT US
This page was last modified on Saturday, April 19, 2014 11:50
Please remember: from your initial enquiry to Hanna to you recieving our enquiry form, having a homecheck and that being reported back to us, it can take a few weeks before you can go visit a dog in its foster home. There are NO EXCEPTIONS to having this process completed.

6 yrs old
This lad is very loving and caring....loves to sit with you on the sofa and snuggle up. He is fully housetrained. He needs love, care but most of all understanding.
He needs an expierenced poodle owner that can cope with a loving, bouncy, full of life dog. He does have some learning difficulties that can sometimes make his life harder..so an understanding of dogs is very important he does not understand any form of punishment and needs kindness always.
It would be better for him to live without other dogs, cat or children around. He would benefit greatly to live with someone who likes to walk most days. He is good off the lead and has a good re-call.
This challenging, loving dog, is very rewarding - all he needs is commitment in a caring home and his dreams will have come true.
11/3/2014: This lad is adorable. He just has slight learning difficulties.
Standard Poodle Bitch
4 yrs old
This poor lass is too stressed at the moment to be neutered as she has Addisons disease. She has been in her foster home for one week now and we have also discovered she has 'dry eye'. She is OK with wither Poodles but on a walk can take a dislike to unknown dogs. We feel this could be down to her condition and medication.
If you think you could give a loving home to the poor, poor young girl, please call Hanna as Addisons is a controllable disease with the help of medication and Hanna can offer guidance as to the long term implications
7/2/14: We are now desperately looking for life-long home for this girl with someone who either has knowledge of Addisons or who is willing to work through the illness with her. As mentioned above, we will provide as much help and assistance we can in this respect. PLEASE, PLEASE call Hanna if you think you could offer this girl a stable, quiet, loving home.
2.5 yrs old
This lad will be coming in as soon as we can free up a foster home by rehoming one of the dogs currently with us.
11/3/14: 2.5 year old small cream Standard male. This lovely lad is a people dog: obedient and willing to please. He loves nothing more than a fuss and a cuddle. He is very wary of other dogs but his foster carer is working on this, gradually beulding his confidence. He would be best as an only dog and homes with someone who is willing to continue his confidence training. He could live with children 12+.
He walks well on the lead, relaxes well around the house and travels well in the car. With a bit more TLC he will continue to blossom. His coat was matted when he arrived and has had to be clipped very short but this will soon grow. He is neutered, vet checked and ready to go to his new forever, loving home. A really beautiful boy.
23/3/14: This lad is really blossoming and looking very handsome now that his fur’s growing back. He loves nothing more than a good fuss and being brushed!
16/4/14 – This lovely cream neutered lad is 2.5 yrs old. He’s quite small for a standard, walks well on the lead, travels well in the car, loves playing ball and has an excellent recall. He loves a cuddle and being brushed and he relaxes well in the house. His fur was very matted when he arrived and had to be taken off but it’s growing back nicely now. He can be nervous of other dogs so may be best as an only dog, although he has now settled with his fosterer’s standard bitch and is blossoming. He could live with children over 12 and would ideally be placed with someone who will continue to build his confidence.
2 X Miniature Poodles
5 & 4 yrs old - mother & son
3/2/14: This pair have just arrived and had to be clipped off due to matted coats. They are in their foster home being assessed.
11/3/2014: The bitch is in season and she will not be rehomed for appx. two months. He could be rehomed now as he has had his dental and vet check but would benefit from being rehomed with another calm dog.
2 x Miniature Poodle Litter Sisters
5.5 yrs old
3/2/14: This pair of litter sisters have come in to rescue due to the death of their owner. They are settling in well in their foster home. They have been vet checked and all is ok with them. They are fully house trained, vaccinated and microchipped.
They will need an experienced dog owner as they are lacking some basic social skills but have great personalities.
Silver Toy Poodle
11 yrs old
This Silver Toy has just been castrated and had a dental and is the sweetest little dog.
8/2/14: This lad is reavailable due to being let down at the last moment by the applicant who decided to go an adopt a dog elsewhere without even seeing him.
However, it has been decided that he really does need to be an only dog to ensure he is happiest in his loving new home.
Large Toy/Small Min Poodle
1.5 yrs old
This girl has just arrived and are being assessed. If you think you may be interested, please call Hanna.
3/2/14: This dog will not be re-homed until she has been spayed. She is due in season any time now.
11/3/2014: This girl has just finished her season and once she is spayed she is ready for her new home.
3.5 yrs old
FULY SECURE 5-6' FENCING REQUIRED FOR THIS DOG
This spayed black girl has just arrived in her foster home and is being assessed. If you think you may be interested, please call Hanna (3/12/13)
11/3/2014: This girl needs to be rehomed with another Standard male. She is not good with cats and an owner who will carry on her training. She is not good with small dogs at the moment but is getting much better
8 yrs old
This white neutered bitch will be with us shortly. If you may be interested, please call Hanna to register your interest
FULY SECURE 5-6' FENCING REQUIRED FOR THIS DOG
03/12/13: She is very sweet. Shy and a bit anxious at the moment. Would love her to be with somebody who is home all day. Nice if they had another dog but wouldn't be a must.
Not sure if she has had places to run as she wants to be with you all the time. We all went around the field and she was
off the lead and would go 10yds in front then come back. This was the entire hour walk. She will learn. Hasn't any problems with my two Standards nor our terrier. Not sure about cats. Has seen the local cat and didn't take too much notice but will test her with my friends cats tomorrow. Very friendly
with anybody who comes by.
3/2/14: We now believe this girl needs to be rehomed with another Standard. She is loving life with the fosterers Standards and coming out of her shell nicely.
| |2 1 x Toy Male Poodle s
6 yrs old
One is Apricot and 6 and a half and the other is white and will be 6 in January. They have just had their hair cut yesterday and are looking very smart!
If you are interested, please call Hanna
3/12/13: These have been vet checked, had dentals & ready to be homed
3/2/14: There are absolutely no issues with this pair and are ok with the fosterers cats now. Desperately awaiting their new loving homes.
11/3/2014: We have found out that the white boy has a heart condition and been given meds to tr for a month. He will need to be check after to see how things are.
01/04/2014: The Apricot lad has found his forever home so we are now looking for a loving home for the cream/white lad. He has an enlarged heart & is at present on medication but this is being closely monitored and assessed.
He is a friendly, affectionate, easy to handle dog, loves to run off the lead. He has good recall and is very fit, sweet natured, loves a cuddle and is quiet in doors.
Would be happiest with other dogs as he has never lived without other dogs.
9 1/2 yrs old
This brown spayed girl has just come in and has been placed with a foster family.
More details to follow but if you may be interested, please call Hanna
24/9/13: This absolutely adorable, loving elderly lady has been vet checked and some helth issues have been identified and are currently being addressed. More details will follow.
22/11/13: This 'lady' has been on insulin for just over a month now and had a glucose curve this week and a blood test. Apart from having her insulin adjusted, her blood test has shown a vast improvement in her health. She will continue to be monitored.
14/12/13: At last this girl is putting on weight - fingers crossed it continues. She takes her injections really well, especially when there is ham at the end of it. She is INCREDIBLY loving and cuddly, even before her eyes started to fail her (cataracts) she was our shadow. She is a smart cookie and quickly works out her surroundings. She was obviously an early riser, as although she sleeps soundly throughout the night, she still has her early morning rise. She is house trained, you just need to bare in mind that she needs reminding sometimes. She happily shares her house and her bed but in truth, if she's got the undividied attention of her human then she is the happiest girl in the world. I joke and say, she'd love a papoose - she really would, she loves the closeness.
4 yrs old
This neutered Apricot lad has just arrived. More details to follow .
11/3/2014: This lad could be wonderful with a firm and fair owner who will make him understand what is acceptable. He dislikes the car and can be difficult on the lead. This lad really needs a patient and understanding owner who has dealt with obedience issues in the past.
3-4 yrs old
This lad came in to his foster home yesterday and is very nervous. He has settled with the fosterers dogs but is very unsure of himself and people at the moment.
11/3/2014: He is very nervous of people but really good with other dogs. He has improved but this will need a very tolerant and understing owner to gain his confidence in people again. He would be far better with another poodle.
Small Min/Large Toy Poodle
2-3 yrs old
(Tyne & Wear)
This lad has literally just arrived in his foster home and more details will follow.
4/8/13: A very intelligent fairly calm, adaptable, cuddly and fun young boy. Very well behaved in the house, good with all other animals . Would be equally happy as an only dog and will probably choose his 'special person' in the family. He would be well suited to anyone wanting to do obedience, agility, hiking etc.. and I do wonder if he would make a good assistance dog. He really is very adaptable and in the right environment has great potential to be the love of your life.
This silver miniature neutered male has just arrived. He is 3 1/2 years old. More details to follow.
11/3/2014: This lad has a temperament issue. Unless he knows you he shows fearful aggression. He is learning to walk outside now but can still be terrified of vehicles, unknown noises etc.. He is now just over 5 years old but due to not being socialised in his former life, we know he is going to be difficult to be rehomed but we would love to find someone who would be willing to take him on and give him a loving home .
2 x Poodle Cross
5 years old
Litter Brother Dogs
These litter brothers have been vet checked on 20/5/13 and both prove to be in good health and all blood results are good. One, however, dos have mild epilepsy. (see 11/3/2014 update)
THEY WILL ONLY BE HOMED AS A PAIR see 24/3/14
Both are castrated, vaccinated and microchiped.
Both are ok with other dogs as long as the other dogs are dog friendly. Are ok with children but will be better to go with children over 10yrs. Nice dogs but do pull a little on the lead but the fosterer is working on this.
3/2/14: This pair are living absolutely fine with the fosterers dogs (see photo below)
11/3/2014: These have recently been vet checked and the one with epilepsy has been taken off of the medication as the vet felt is may not be required. This will continued to be monitored closely.
24/3/14: Having been in their foster home for over a month,
it has been decided they can be rehomed INDIVIDUALLY and NOT AS A PAIR Also, the lad who was on epilipsy meds has been absolutely fine since he has been taken off of it.
Apricot Miniature Poodle
3 yrs old Dog
This lad has been assessed and heakthchecked and ready to be re-homed.
He loves playing with other dogs and likes men but can be unpredictable with women!! Therefore he should ideally be suited to a male household with another dog. Where women are in the household, they would need to be willing to work toward gaining his confidence and be firm with him. Please call Hanna for more information
3/2/14: We are astonished that this dog has not found his loving home yet. All he needs is a male only or a mixed sex household where the woman needs to be strong with their dog. He is good with the foster family as they will not stand for his tantrums!
BLACK / BLUE STANDARD POODLE DOG
9+ yrs old
Ref: AV040 (Kent)
16 March 2011
(23/03/14) I just cannot believe it has been almost two years since we have given an update on Finnie. He has been keeping well and his mobility is about the same but is kept under control with a daily Previcox tablet. We had to take him off of Metacam as it started to upset his tummy.
Last Wednesday however, he had to have a Total Ear Canal Ablation (removal) as for a few months he had a severe infection in his left ear. He went through ear flushes, antibiotics etc but in the end even given he is 11.5 years old now, after discussions with the vet it was decided this was the best course of treatment. The operation was long (over three hours) and very costly (£1,600.00) He is recovering well albeit with a small amount of fluid build-up but it is self draining. Through all this he is a very good boy. I will add a photo when I can take a decent one as he is very camera shy!
Due to this lad having continued mobility issues, we have decided to keep him on permanent foster and create a page entirely to him and his progress. If you would like to follow his story, please see Finnie's Page
If you would like to see just some of the other dogs we have on permanent foster, please see our SPONSORSHIP page. Thank-you
